Self-help research aiming to improve social confidence

Many individuals with skin conditions, such as acne, can experience appearance-related worry in social situations.

We are inviting people with a ‘visible difference’ in their appearance (such as skin and hair conditions) to take part in an online research study examining the effectiveness of a self-help intervention, based upon Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT).
The self-help aims to improve social confidence.

Plus, there is a chance to win one of two £25 Amazon vouchers.

The study involves answering some questions about your mood and social confidence. The questions will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. You will then be allocated to receive a self-help intervention now or after four weeks.
We will contact you again after four weeks to repeat the same questions online, which will take no more than 10-15 minutes. At this point, participants will be entered into a prize draw to win one of two £25 Amazon vouchers.
