Increasing food allergies

Hi, I'm looking for advice, my husband (27) has a lot of allergies, a whole range from wheat/gluten/nuts/eggs/meats/veg it all started when he had a reaction to nuts at age 22, then he was tested for other allergies and all those came back, he cut out the the things he was allergic to and his skin cleared up (very red & dry before) but his reactions have suddenly come back this time worse than before, throat reactions etc, reactions to a lot of things mostly chicken so we have cut that out, we were researching and found he has similar if not the same symptoms to a condition called EE (don't ask me to spell it) but it's a condition where in the pipe that leads to the stomach it has white rings on it which reacts to some food, how can we go about getting tested for this? It's a new condition so many doctors don't know what it is

Re: Increasing food allergies

Dear Emily

We are now seeing more and more adults with food allergies relating to Eosinophilic Eosophagitis - to food involved in this can be the major food allergens, but also commonly in adults fruit and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables are a particular problem in adults with grass and birch pollen allergies. I would suggest that you see an Allergist/Clinical Immunologist who works with an Allergy Specialist Dietitian to get to the bottom of these problems.

It is also known that after a period of avoiding a food, symptoms to exposure may become worse, but often, it is better to avoid and food and be symptom free rather than eating the food in have low grade symptoms all the time.

I hope I answered some of your queries.
