weekend binge drinking more harmful?

I regularly consume large amounts of alcohol at the weekends as this is what I have been used to doing since being a teenager. I feel criticised by family when they comment on my alcohol intake yet they consume a glass or two of wine each evening with their meal. When I comment on this to them they do not seem to see that we are drinking similar amounts. As their intake is spread out over the week they seem to think that is less harmful.

I do not think I have a drink problem as my pattern of drinking has always been the norm for me.

My questions are:
-when does binge drinking become a problem, or is this likely to develop into a problem for me?
-is binge drinking at a weekend more harmful than drinking steadily throughout the week?
