Hi - just a quick post - I would suggest that the jury is out on the correct diet, with differing advice and science everywhere.

Insulin is the issue, whether the receptors, the production, or the insensitivity. So it works logically that eating foods with a low insulin response may be most beneficial. Look at the 'insulin index' for insulin response in respect to foods - it isn't just carbs, but some proteins too that give a high insulin response.

Best advice would be to research and become the world's best expert on diabetes - that way you can select the right approach for you based on knowledge.

Not too helpful I'm afraid, yet, hopefully has given you some direction...

Tracey has given some sound advice. The diabetes uk website has a great deal of information on dietary advice and recipes. Your local GP should be able to give some additional information as well.
