Multiple symptoms - worried

Around 3/4 weeks ago I had irregular bleeding 5 days after my period and a couple of light pink clots. The bleeding wasn't heavy and more like a show than a full on period and lasted around 5 days. Over the last two weeks I have felt constantly bloated to the point my trousers are digging (I am currently on slimming world, 7 weeks in, and I have lost weight so there is no weight gain), I have had lower back pain constantly for at least 10 days and within the last two days I need to urinate more frequently but there is no pain. I am also a week to 10 days late for my period but I have taken pregnancy tests that are coming back negative. I have booked an appointment to see my GP/Nurse but I can't be seen until 20th March and I am starting to worry, I feel as though I can't go to the walk in clinic and A&E would be a waste of their time. Please help!

*edit* I also forgot to mention that sex has been painful too and hurts along the right side of my lower abdomen area.

Re: Multiple symptoms - worried

As your symptoms have come on recently, and particularly as you've had abnormal bleeding, lower abdo pain and painful sex - which I assume wasn't a problem before - you certainly won't be wasting the time of your local sexual health clinic (http://www.sxt.org.uk/service?step=4de2 ... 6719000004).
Put together, these symptoms are strongly suggestive of pelvic infection - so the sooner you get it checked, the better - and waiting another 10 days is simply not appropriate or safe.

Most sexual health clinics (see also: http://www.bashh.org/BASHH/Clinics/clinics.aspx) should be able to see you today or tomorrow in a walk-in clinic. As you've got significant symptoms, they won't turn you away.

Don't wait - sort it out NOW. And make sure your partner gets a check-up at the same time.

Re: Multiple symptoms - worried

I managed to get a GP appointment this evening but I am still not happy, I have been referred for a ultrasound of my uterus/ovaries/kidneys, he hasn't given me any medication or offered any tests like cervical screening or swabs. The ultrasound isn't marked as urgent and I have to wait for an appointment. He only offered pills to regulate my period, I feel very frustrated. I told him the advice I had been given and he said "yes it could be that" but that was all I got out of him :(

If you want specialist, appropriate care, go to a specialist clinic. Most GPs aren't equipped to deal with emergencies like yours - but a good one will spot that things are URGENT and tell youto get to a sexual health clinic, or, if your pain is really severe (especially as you have Right sided lower abdo pain), might refer you straight to a gynaecology team in hospital.
Don't sit at home waiting for the scan - get a full check-up today - please!
