Re: Asthma for 25 years
Hi Mark
Thanks for your post, it would be helpful to know if you are getting just colds or chest infections?
Is there anything else aggravating your asthma like allergies, gastric reflux or runny nose symptoms, smoking or anything in your home or work environment.
If it is just a case of, colds and you are normally fit and well, then you can usually reduce the amount of colds you get with good hand washing, avoiding touching your face, maintaining a good water and diet intake with lots of fruit and vegetables, and wiping surfaces down around you with antibacterial wipes.
Lots of people also look to complementary medicines to support recuperation, and you would need to speak to a reputable source.
It's important to acknowledge though, that this must become a lifestyle, even when a person without medical problems has repeated viruses it can take months to fully recover, and this is where you must do your part by treating you body well
All that said its best to discuss all this with the person who reviews your asthma and ask to have spirometery performed to check that your lung function is normal.
Best wishes
Vicky
