What do you do to manage your acne? Do you rely totally on prescription medicine or perhaps complementary? Or do you use a mixture of the two. Tell us what works for you.

To treat my acne I use a combination of therapies. I find that the key is good basic skincare. I start with a gentle soap free cleanser, then I use a tea tree toner and a very light moisturizer.

I've found that when my acne gets a bit out of control I can use the Obagi Clenziderm skincare system http://www.obagi.com - I also like to use the zeno http://www.myzeno.com acne treatment device for individual pimples, however I find the treatment a bit painful and the replacement tips are expensive. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the CLARO http://www.clrstechnology.com - My doctor has said that this treatment will work much better and faster.

Has anyone used the Marvel Mini? If so please let me know how it worked for you.

Jess.

Hello, im brand new here *waves*

I just wanted to ask if anybody else has tried these DermaTherapy pillow cases? They were in the Daily Mail a few months ago now claiming to be able to cure acne so I decided to try them out.

They have turned my life around, seriously. I go out more with my friends and dont shy away anymore. I find myself trying to find any excuse to go out!

I havent found anybody else who has tried them yet so if you have then please let me know, I want to know if anyone has had the same success. Also I just wanted to take the opportunity to reccommened these to everyone!

You can buy them at http://www.dermatherapybedding.co.uk

Sarah - I am delighted to hear that you've had such a success with the DermaTherapy pillow cases. Would it be ok if I post your testimonial on the main site in our 'Your Stories' section for others, who don't belong to the Forum, to read? Also, I'd also like to pass your comments onto the UK Distributor for DermaTherapy as I know they are very keen to get feedback. Would this be OK?

I really try to keep the products I use on my acne to a minimum. I don't put soap anywhere near my face and when I do break out with some acne I tend to use witch hazel which is fantastic.

Doctor's prescribed medicine help me a lot as it is according to skin texture and problem.Apart from this medicated treatment drinking water and washing face at least twice a day with water help out a lot.

I think you are probably right that we need a combination of treatments. And drinking water is good for so many things including skin. However unfortunately everyone's body works differently and so there isn't a one cure for all when it comes to acne.

I agree that i try to use mostly complementary therapies but also have to resort to medicated treatments. I also worry about the long term effects but with little support we have to try what we are offered i suppose.

Hello I am new to this site and am just wanting to share my success story and discuss with fellow sufferers what works for you.

Has anyone ever tried aknicare before? I have found that it works really well for me, alongside a healthy diet and large consumption of water! I use the cleanser, the lotion (when I have bad breakouts) and the cream.

My Mum initially found it for me, after lots of research, as she hated seeing me suffer the way I have throughout the years.

I hope everyone else has found something that works for you too, if not, I would recommend you give these a try :)
