Benzoyl Peroxide

Hi all,

I am looking for some advice and or experiences with benzoyl peroxide. I have been using for just under 2 weeks now and whilst I would say I have noticed some improvement, I am still getting breakouts. How long can I expect to wait to see my skin clear up? :( At the moment when I look in the mirror and think progress is being made, I notice a new breakout forming. I know I will need to wait longer to start seeing some results so would be great to hear from people who have used this for longer. I am using 5% gel and apply it when I wake up and before bed. Also, as a side note if anyone has any suggestions for treating post hyperinflammatory erythema that would be amazing..

I would be very grateful to hear from you. :D

Re: Benzoyl Peroxide

Hi Cameron James,

Thank you for posting on the forum. Hopefully other members who have used Benzoyl Peroxide will be able to share their feedback after using it. Unfortunately we are unable to give specific medical advice on individual conditions here but you may want to check out the NHS factsheet on the drug here:

https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/benzoyl-peroxide/

Have you considered joining our free acne support programme?

With regards to Hyperinflammatory Erythema, very little data exists that identifies its etiology and effective treatment options. You may wish to talk to your GP who can refer you onto a dermotologist who will be able to advise you.

Kind regards
