Vaguely going forward

I keep going to the hospital every 6 months but there is no specific diagnosis. Symptoms mild pain in groin very occasionally, post saturation dribble, urgency especially when standing up after sitting down. I don't know exactly what I've got.
Any ideas welcome

Steve

going to the hospital to see who - a urologist? Difficult to be sure from the brief description of what is going on, but it doesn't sound too difficult for someone to advise you and hopefully start some treatment - if you have a mix of voiding symptoms (slow flow, intermittent stream, dribble at the end of passing urine) and storage symptoms (including the urgency you describe) then it may be prostate enlargement which could be treated with medication....

Re: Vaguely going forward

Hi It's a urologist I see but he never really says much. My symptoms are as in my last post along with what is best described as occasional slow flow although it's not too bad most of the time. Also I can get urgency apart from standing up. I take Lyrinel(?) for the urgency. I had one of those tests to see if you may have prostate cancer a couple of years ago and it showed nothing going on. I also had an ultrasound scan that showed my bladder actually had a reasonable amount of space in it. At the same time as I had that done my rectal examination didn't seem to alarm anyone at the time.

Frustrating for you...

If you have a slow flow and a dribble at the end, plus the urgency, I would combine an alpha blocker drug for the prostate, with an anti-cholinergic drug for your bladder - there is a tablet that contains both oif these, called Vesomni, and it might be worth asking your GP to give you a try with it - you should know within 4 weeks if it is effective - it would be instead of your current treatment. Hope that helps.
