Existing moles
I have a number of moles that i think have always been around.. what are the chances of them turning into something harmful? Also should one take more care with larger moles - like cover them up for example? Thank you

Re: Existing moles
Dear Cwilliams2010,
thank you for your question. The chances of a cancerous mole developing in an existing mole are approximately the same as a cancerous mole developing in normal skin. Therefore, our advice is to be vigilant about all your skin. If you have a large number of moles (more than 100) the chances of developing an unusual or cancerous moles are overall higher, so you have to be very careful with sunlight and self examination. Dermatologist recommend self examination of skin every month and examination by a doctor every 6 month.
I hope this is helpful.
