Trying to conceive

Myself and my partner are trying to conceive but this is taking a while… are there any steps we can take to improve our fertility?
Hi, can I ask you a few questions?
Have either of you had a pregnancy with a different partner?
In either of you:
Smokers?
Alcohol?
Obesity?
Exercise?
Diet?
Any operations or infections down below or in the tummy?
