Private screening tests try to detect disease in people who have no symptoms, the term "worried well" has been used in this connection.
Screening tests are not perfect and can, in themselves, cause problems due to unnecessary exposure to radiation. Remember private companies are in business for profit.

No. If you need a bowel scan, your doctor and specialist are the best to advise and then follow you up with any treatment you might need. Private bowel scans are expensive and do not usually offer any follow up. And if you take the result to your doctor, they are most likely to repeat it.
