skin symptoms

hi can someone please advise me on symptoms im having? this has went on for four years and I am very worried that other people will get it too, I live with my two daughters and they are unaffected, I have mild itching all over and small brown spots that look like freckles coming out all ove my body, I also have little red spots that scab over, Im having slight hairloss and my eyelashaes are falling out. Could this be scabies even though in four years noone else is affected? Im so worried and have seen many doctors and they all say its not scabies< is there any other skin condition that could cause such symptoms? I d appreciate your opinion with many thanks

Hi, scabies is highly contagious and if this was contagious then your daughters would have had it by now for sure. It is hard to say what it is but if you have been seen by many doctors and they have not been concerned, there this may just be 'normal for you.' The good thing is thoug, that it doesn't sound contagious! I hope this helps, Dr Webberley

Thank you for your question. I agree with Dr Webberly that this is unlikely to be scabies. It is more difficult to make a diagnosis without examining you in person but I wonder if you have common skin lesions called seborrhoeic keratoses. If you skin itchy it is important to moisturise it on a regular basis (with e.g. diprobase cream, cetrabene cream, aveeno or even greasier moisturisers_ - hydromol or emulsifying ointments) and use moisturising soap substitutes (e.g. Oilatum, E45 wash).
