Eczema Flares

Both my children are really flaring up especially on exposed skin areas. Face neck arms hands. Are many of you going through the same? It started last week but is still getting worse. Have the pollens started??

Re: Eczema flares

I've been wondering the same thing. I was fine this week then got a bit of rash around the eyes, and when I woke up this morning it was all over my face, down my neck, and my eyes are swollen. I haven't been near any irritants so I thought it must be something in the air.

Re: Eczema flares

I am sure pollens are my childrens problem at the moment but the hospital think my son is showing signs of being allergic to the sun. So I am running round like mad trying to buy the last few long sleeve winter shirts on sale along with sunhats that go down his neck, which the doctor advised to be worn at all times. Plus they have prescribed a suncream for him to wear.

Re: Eczema flares

What suncream have they prescribed? I also think that my son reacts to pollen. I have noticed that grass sems to be a trigger especially when it has been cut within 24 hours of contact.

Re: Eczema flares

I am considering the possibility that my 4 month old is also allergic to pollen - does anyone know of an antihystamine syrup suitable for this age?

Re: Eczema flares

We have had one from 4 months but for food allergy so it is possible but I think you must get it prescribed for the age.
