Pompholyx eczema

Ive had this for almost a year, came out of no where, my kid has had this , but a different kind on her knees, well I have been given a cream to use, which does work to a point, but just last week I woke up to a red line that was on the inside of my are, swollen arm, very sore to the touch, went to doctor to find out I had cellulitis, due to my eczema, so they gave me augmentin, 1800 mg daily, well six days later, not better, so I get a appt. for the dermatologist, this is what he told me, I will always have this I can control it, it might even go away for awhile, but it will always be there! Great, but This is what he told me, main cause is stress:which is true, I see it come on strong when I'm under stress, also one British study says, it's a allergic reaction to "Nickle", well did you know it's about impossible to go nickle free, it's in all tin cans, veggie cans etc., chocolate, strawberries , peas, corn and list goes on, look up nickle allergys, couldn't believe it, excessive sweating is another, no one knows for sure, I haven't change nothing in my daily habits before I got it, to after, my palms of my hands, inside my ears, and the right side of my labia, of all places, so I put Triamcinolone 0.5% , 3 xs daily, also doctor told me to soak my hands for 20 minutes( as soon as they start to break out), 2oz of white vinger to 16 oz of "distiled"water, they put on cream right away, or you can get "Domeboris Solution", one part to 40 parts of distiled water, same as the vinger, can get it at pharmacy, or if they are really bad, use , Diluted bleach, 2 tablespoons to gallon of water again 20 min.put cream on right away, can do this 2 to 3 x daily!! This is the hand lotion he told me to get,12% Amlactin, can get it OTC , at pharmacy, alsoCetaphil, can get anywhere!you could also try PUVA light Therapy, it also possible with steroid shots might work, but when it comes back, it can be much worst!biggest thing is I have a bad blood infection from this, which isn't going wary, I'm on stronger meds, Cephalexin 500 mg 4 x daily, so if in the next two days if I'm not better(mind you I been on the other meds for 8 days) I have to have IV antibodics at hospital, this is scary, so please watch out for any reclines, which I was told I was infected at least a week before that red line appear, running temps, very fatigue , so I hope this helps someone, today I start my soakings, will let you know how it works! Good luck to all, and I do feel your pain!!:)

Re: Pompholyx eczema

So sorry to hear what you are going through, I have been through very similar starting with Pompholyx Eczema on hands and feet but after several months of many treatments, I asked to be swabbed on my hand to see what infection I had and I tested positive for Mrsa, which was quite a shock but after only 10 days of treatment, everything has healed up, my hands look like mine again and I have been told by my skin specialist that mrsa staph infection can present itself very much like chronic eczema!! Please read my topic under this page by Scottie13. I'm sure you will already have been tested but if not ask for a hand swab to be done as this type of infection is resistant to penicillin!!
Good luck,
Scottie13
