Do you have carpets at home and were maybe staying in a tiled room?? Then maybe think about House Dust Mite. Or could you have reacted well to the sun light as they do use sun lamps in hospital for treating certain eczema. Speak to your specialist.

Several factors are known to trigger or aggravate eczema, and should be avoided. Some of these factors are weather conditions as well as air-borne allergens, certain foods, skin irritants, and stress.

It could be possibly to be secondary to weather conditions or foods that you have eaten if which you are unaware that caused your eczema flare up. Just keep the skin well moisturized.

Eczema can be caused by yeast infection and yeast thrives in dark, damp conditions. Probably on holiday you went around with less clothing than at home, with the further benefit of sun exposure, which prevented the yeast taking hold.
In 2006, I wrote in “My Stories” under Clothing-Staying nude, how I had managed to keep eczema at bay and by strictly following this regime, I am still clear, although I have to remain vigilant.

i have had to re-register,so I probably cannot be contacted on the link at the end of the story..

I've been wondering the same thing. I was fine this week then got a bit of rash around the eyes, and when I woke up this morning it was all over my face, down my neck, and my eyes are swollen. I haven't been near any irritants so I thought it must be something in the air.

Eczema comes back about once a year around winter so we bought foderma serum anticipating the season and sure enough it came and after a couple uses of foderma serum, it is gone! This serum does contain something that lightens the skin slightly in the area it is used so just use small amounts.
