Just... :(

:| I have a horrible flare up on my legs, abdomen and right arm. The itching on the belly is especially terrible. I'm trying hard to avoid my hydrocortisone cream as well as antihistamines, and instead I'm going natural, but it's HARD. This is what I'm using as relief/moisturizer, as of Sunday March 1st: 1: apple cider vinegar (pat, let it dry) 2: organic coconut oil and natural oatmeal mush 3: Cetaphil Restoraderm 4: ISDIN eczema cream, 5: calendula gel. Sometimes I combine all of them of I'll choose 1 or 2 every hour or so. It's helped me reduce the itchiness on the legs in about 30%, but nothing is working on the belly. It comes and goes. I have to put a piece of a soft cotton t-shirt between my belly and my underwear, to reduce friction.

My last flare up was in January. It was more like a continuation of permanent eczema since the summer, and then in February it went away. I spent almost a whole month in remission, although I do remember that the flare up I had on my back was so debilitating that I just had to treat it with a potent corticoid cream for 5 days, and it went away. I realize how dangerous it is to use these creams for a chronic condition, but nothing else was working. I'll continue with my natural treatment for the week and hopefully won't have to use the corticoid.

Re: Just... :(

Sorry to hear of the flare-up, sending encouragement from Singapore :)

Any chance with allergy testing to find out what's wrong? I'm also thinking may not be a wise thing to use many items at the same time, hard to know which one works or which one may have ingredients that cause the flare-up. Also if using natural cream, do be mindful of expiry date. The general guideline is the less ingredients, the better. Plus no fragrance. A series on skincare products I collaborated with a dermatologist, hopefully give you some ideas on how to manage http://eczemablues.com/2012/02/sensitiv ... -to-avoid/
Take care,
