You said 'the list goes on', but the two things you have mentioned both seem to be about the security of her home. Has something happened recently that might have made her anxious about this, such as a neighbour being burgled or something like that? It sounds as though she is feeling a bit insecure for some reason.
Although you've said you don't want her to know you're worried, it might be best to talk to her about it. After all, she may have decided she won't talk to you because she doesn't want to worry you either!
But if you can ask her if she's worried about her home, she might be very relieved to be able to talk about it.

I agree, but I also think that you should get her checked out by her GP. Things like anaemia and water infections can be just enough to make elderly people change in their personality. Depression and early dementia can also cause changes such as these, and these days there are treatment available for both. Do have a chat with her and do get her checked out. Dr Webberley
