Why don’t we do these tests in the UK like other countries as a preventative method?

The NHS has to gauge its screening tests on lots of parameters, including what works well, how much it costs and who are the nest people to have it.

PSA is a tricky one because a positive test doesn't necessarily mean you have cancer and a negative one doesn't mean you don't!

However, if a man wants a test then he should be able to discuss the pros and cons with his GP and have a test if he would like one.

Most countries don't screen nationally with PSA
USA has just stopped doing PSA screening due to over diagnosis and over treatment.
We advise tests if you have a family history or are African/Caribbean
also if you are worried about prostate cancer.
My grandfather died of it and so i have had one
