Rosacea comorbidity studies are unsettling

I've been trying to keep up with the latest in rosacea research and in doing so I've come across a lot of comorbidity studies that have shown that there is an increased risk of quite a few other chronic conditions when you have rosacea.

These include Parkinson's disease, dementia, certain forms of heart disease, autoimmune disorders and several others.

I'm starting to find this rather unsettling. It would be great if research could pinpoint the source of rosacea symptoms so we could begin to understand why there is a link with so many other health problems. :(

I agree - and these sorts of connections seem to be made more and more often and with different conditions. There have been lots in the media lately about how research has found, for example, a distinct link between psoriasis and mental health issues.

My hope is that with continued research they can, as you said, pin down the exact cause of these conditions so preventative steps can be taken.

That would be very good. I hope that with all these links found among the conditions, it will become more possible to identify the common cause so they can all be healed more effectively.

Hey thanks for the super helpful reply. I'm not sure how I missed that thread. I haven't quite mastered the search function on here. I think I'll pass with him this time around.
