Re: Living with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain disorders

Hi All,

I have been living with Raynauds for the last 10 years and now have been informed that I have fibromyalgia and spinal stenosis in my neck. I am taking Lyrica for the stenosis and am on the waiting list to see a spinal surgeon. Has anyone any methods of dealing with the constant pain in my hands and neck that does not involve taking so many pain killers as I have a highly sensitive stomach for which I take lanzrapole for?

Re: Living with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain disorders

Hiya, a disc came completely out of my spine and left me with nerve damage down my right leg and both feet. I have to use a walking stick and mobility scooter.
This cause immense pain in my feet which the doctor says they can do nothing about. It feels like I have no skin or flesh on my balls and heels and that I am walking on bare bone. The gabapentin works only for the nerve pain in my leg.
Recently I have been experiencing tremendous pain in my knees, hips, wrists, arms and shoulder which I have had numerous blood tests but the doctor is baffled.
I saw the pain management team at the hospital and they are going to put me on a drip for 2-3 hours. This appointment will take 5 months to arrive.
Recently I have been introduced to doTerra essential oils and they are really helping but I want a diagnosis.
I watched a lady on tv saying that post menopausal women suffer from joint and muscle pain because of lack of oestrogen. I asked my doctor about this as I am post menopausal and he said even if that was the case they don't give treatment for that.
My pain makes my depression and anxiety worse and I end up not going out because just holding the handle bars on my mobility scooter causes immense pain in my wrists, arm and shoulder.
Can anyone suggest anything that would help please?

Re: Living with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain disorders

Hello Bibbimac and thank you for taking the time to post in the forum. It sounds like you've had a really tough time.

Our suggestion would be to go back to your doctors' surgery and find out if there is a GP with a special interest in pain you can see specifically. You may find a GP who specialises may be able to support you better.

Hope this helps - please do let us know how things progress.

Best wishes
