Conflicting burns first aid advice

The correct way to treat minor burns when they first happen seems to be different depending on who you ask!

Could our experts please go through the different types of burns you might sustain in a home environment and the initial care required for each one?

Re: Conflicting burns first aid advice

For the majority of burns wounds, the advice is to run under a cold water tap for 20 minutes. don't use ice, iced water, or any creams or greasy substances such as toothpaste or butter. cover with clingfilm and then go to your nearest A&E department.
