Strange unknown sleeping disorder

Hi everyone
i come to you today to ask about a disorder that i seem to have but cant find any answers for. This is the jist of it. Around 6/10 times that i fall asleep my perception of time is royally screwed up. Rather than a dream lasting it's typical time of 10 mins it feels like the dream has lasted anywhere between a day, week, month ,or sometimes on rarer occasions , a year. This can be extremely irritating and depressing and even more so on dreamless nights because it feels like i have been floating in a void of nothingness for so long. I am unable to wake myself up at these times (which i assume is hard in the first place anyway). When i wake up i find that its only been a nights worth of sleep or a 5 minute nap in class. If anyone has any ideas on what this could be please let me know.
Also an unrelated issue that isn't particularly bad (as far as i know) is that i can halucinate what i see in my imagination if i know the object well enough. This occurs usually. (no substances are involved what so ever)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Re: Strange unknown sleeping disorder

Hi OrcadVox,

Welcome to the talkhealth forums.

We're sorry to hear about the issues you are having. Dreams and sleeping can be a very difficult problem to diagnose, it would be advised for you to reach out to your GP and get an appointment to help work out what is causing the issue. They may refer you to a specialist who should hopefully be able to help identify the problem and provide the right treatment.

Please do let us know how you get on.

Thanks,

Maybe you have neurosis problems? Any anxiety disorder? I had it sometimes the same situations like yours, but it was related to neurosis - I was at the doctor and prescribed me a sedation pills and melatonin - since then I have no problems. I also had to do research, but it also went ok. Maybe you need some physical activity? You do not have a lot of stress lately? Maybe there are reasons related to stress or neurosis

Honestly, I've never heard of such a thing. Did you seek medical help, OrcadVox?

Hi OrcadVox,
How are you doing? I just need to know bit more about your case. Do you have any medical issues like asthma? are you suffering any anxiety disorder? are you take any medication now?

Thanks.

Re: Strange unknown sleeping disorder

I have been suffering from sleep disorder from weeks. I was becoming insomniac and I consulted many doctors for this. Some gave me sleep pills, some suggested me to try different sleeping positions and some to buy a comfortable mattress and sleep products, some suggested to do proper exercise and yoga. Finally, I tried all of it and everything benefited a little in their own ways. I think one should try all these to get rid of sleep disorder.

Hi Orcad Vox,
How are you?
I have been in your situation, but I was lucky to recover it by drinking Hemp tea. Friend of mine recommended to me a very nice on-line store, where I got my tea from. It helped me straight away. In the end of the first week I was able to get rid of sleep disorder. Also, I have increased drinking plain water up to 3 liters per day. I hope that information would help you. Best of luck!

Re: Strange unknown sleeping disorder

Hi all, I have had problems with sleeping too as sometimes life gets hard and sometimes depression set in. I'd like to thank the poster of this topic and hopefully help a little bit. I found turmeric a real help with the fight against depression and therefore getting a night of better sleep. I also found another herb but I'll let you guys figure that other one out. :D

I'm not sure if this link will go down via the moderators but I'll leave it here for you all if you need some turmeric in your life.
Thx Ben
