Ear problems

Hi there. A couple of years back my ears felt full so I went to my gp. He said I needed them syringed so I used the drops and went back to get it done. I didn't have that loudness or cool feeling is had before, so nurse checked and said they were so clear she could see the bones behind my ear. Stupidly i never went back. Now I gave been to the gp again and going through the drops and syringing palaver again. If it doesn't feel clear this time I will go back, but any ideas why it might not feel as clear as it should after syringing please? Sorry it's so long!
