CPR and first aid for babies

Hello friends,

Last year, I became a mother. My husband and I were blessed with a handsome son. When my son became 1 year old, we decided to celebrate his birthday. On his birthday, we decorated our home with big balloons, lights, etc, We invited our close relatives and friends to the celebration party. The children of friends and my nephews were playing with balloons. Suddenly, one of the balloons blasted with a loud noise.

My son was afraid and started to cry. He was not stopping his cry and after some time he started to choke. We were extremely worried. But, before becoming pregnant, I have gone for baby CPR and first aid classes. Because of this training, I could help my son from facing this breathing problem and could help him to become normal. I would recommend all parents to go for such training to save your child in such dangerous circumstances.

All opinions are welcome!

Re: CPR and first aid for babies

Hi AnzaLeff

Thank you for your post. We can only imagine how frightening it must have been when your little one started choking but what a good idea to have the CPR and First Aid classes before he was born.

The St Johns Ambulance have a very good website with practical information and videos for parents which anyone may find helpful and useful, have a look here, http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/first-aid-adv ... /baby.aspx.

Best wishes
