Fatigue and pain

Hi guys,

My first time on this. I'm a former athlete and still trying to stay active. My body and joints are in so much pain. I suffer from fatigue and struggle sometimes to walk upstairs ... I've been having sore feet and ankles and I had blood test come back negative for I believe rheumatoid arthritis.... and I'm getting so down with all. Anyone got a similar issue or could help? Thank you

Re: Fatigue and pain

Hi Frankohya,

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you for posting and sorry to hear about your painful joints.

We would urge you to contact one of our partner charities, the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Association and there is a freephone helpline and email that you can contact them on to discuss your symptoms.

Please find their website here:

https://www.nras.org.uk

And here is some info on RA and diagnosis:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/rheumatoi ... diagnosis/

It would seem that even though your blood tests came back negative, that doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have the condition. We would urge you to visit your GP again and ask if you can be referred to a Rheumatologist. The key is to get the inflammation under control quickly with medication.

We hope you are able to get to the bottom of your symptoms as soon as possible.

Kind regards

Re: Fatigue and pain

I have been suffering fatigue and pain myself in my left thigh. I sat on the bed wrongly and pulled a muscle: it really hurt.

I dealt with it by doing gentle walking and resting. I just needed to pull my muscle back into position gently. It hurt because it had gone into the wrong position.

Because of this, it does not hurt anymore. Gently moving the muscles will ease any pain. You can also buy a painkiller cream, that's been advertised recently. You just apply it to the sore area and it'll help ease the pain.
