Difficulty swallowing and mucus

Hello. I am a girl, 17. For a year I have had problems with swallowing and phlegm in the throat. My nose is blocked in the morning, but even after that the mucus remains. I wonder if it's not because of the thyroid, because sometimes when I inhale it hurts there, and in the evening it's as if balls pass when I swallow. It is very difficult for me to sing because my voice fades and then my throat hurts for one day. I have tried everything, and went to doctors, but they said I am okay. I will go to an endocrinologist, but I don't know if it is from there. I also have greasy skin and greasy hair, but no other complaints.

Re: Difficulty swallowing and mucus

Hi magdalena123,

Thank you for your post and sorry to hear about your mucus symptom. Hopefully other members may be able to help with similar symptoms. Have you considered an allergy or a food intolerance? The body is trying to get rid of something persistently hence the continued mucus and inflammation.

Please find some info here from the NHS that maybe worth considering:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/catarrh/

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/food-intolerance/

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/allergic-rhinitis/

You may also want to contact one of our partner charities who will be able to help:

If this continues and you are worried that it could be something involving your thyroid, then we would urge you to re-visit your GP or another GP for further investigation and treatment.

Kind regards

Seems like the effects of a common cold. I do not know, but try a lot of vix. Vapour rubs and inhalers and sweets, etc.
