Elderly individuals and those with digestive issues may also need to take Vitamin B12 supplements as their bodies may not be able to absorb enough Vitamin B12 from food. People with pernicious anemia, a condition in which the body cannot absorb Vitamin B12 from food, must supplement their diet with Vitamin B12 in order to avoid severe health problems.

I've also heard vitamin B12 is important for pregnant women to take.
