From what I know, yes: high blood pressure can lead to a heart attack.
This is why your doctor measures your blood pressure and suggests ways to reduce high blood pressure. But please don't panic: you won't suddenly have a heart attack. Just listen to your doctor's advice and you will be fine.

Yes, high blood pressure (hypertension) is a significant risk factor for heart attacks. When your blood pressure is consistently high, it puts extra strain on your heart and blood vessels.
Managing and controlling high blood pressure through lifestyle changes and, if necessary, medication, can significantly reduce the risk of heart attacks and other cardiovascular problems.
The DASH, or Mediterranean-style diet, can help lower blood pressure. Reduce salt intake. Some exercise can also help control blood pressure: Aerobic exercise, such as brisk walking, running, swimming, and cycling, can help lower blood pressure. Get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity each week.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is necessary. Now that more and more smartwatches are rolling out this feature, it's arguably a huge convenience.
