How to cope?

Hi there guys, a brief History/context would be a good way to start.

I'm a 24 year old guy who's been suffering with an over active bladder for near 8 years now, I've had every test under the sun, every tablet known to date and had my bladder stretched and finally had 2 rounds of botox. The botox helped for a good 4 days and everything was back to normal but now I'm left with having to push to urinate every time I need a wee.. Which you can imagine is quite strenuous on the body after 3 years..I'm currently working to see another specialist to talk about having an electrode implant to help calm the nerves but we'l see. I used to a successful musician gigging every weekend, gigged up and down the country but now because of this in struggling to just manage a practice worth a band. I don't drink or do drugs never have.

So yeah that's me.. I'm mainly posting to ask.. What's the best way to cope with it?.. I'm at my end, I've been to my local GP for counciling but I'm no better off. I'm angry and tense all the time I can't relax, I hate being like this my partner understands all of this but I don't want to understand it or put up with it. I want to be normal and to be able to cope..

So please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: How to cope?

Hello Lucas and thank you for taking the time to post in this forum. We are only sorry others haven't responded as there is a wealth of experience within the membership of this community.

The Bladder & Bowel Foundation charity would be worth visiting as they have quite a few resources available that may be of value to you - https://www.bladderandbowelfoundation.o ... -symptoms/ - they also have a helpline so would be worth calling them as they have a range of fully trained advisers on hand. Their number is 0845 345 0165.

Hope this helps.
