Frequent bladder infections

I am a male, 61,T1 on Novorapid and Lantus. In March this year I had signicant blood in my urine, I was referred to urology and have had two flexible and one rigid cystoscopies. Nothing abnormal show in biopsies, but some raw bloody areas in the bladder and bleeding put down to infection.
Since then I've had regular bladder infections. The latest caused me to collapse and needed hospital admission. (Sepsis was considered). My blood sugars are really tight, HbA1c 6.4, during infection my levels rise dramatically. Is there anything else I can do to reduce infection and my reliance on antibiotics and stop future visits ti A&E?
