bath/shower and foley catheter and leg bag

Hi all,
Is it ok to have a bath or shower with a foley catheter and leg bag.
I know the straps will have to be removed when hubby has a wash because they would take forever to dry.

How do you cope please share.

Thanks

Caz

Re: bath/shower and foley catheter and leg bag

I see this is an old post but I just joined today and this is a question I had so it may still be of interest to someone.
I only use a night bag at the moment - For showering I close the valve on my Foley and detach the tube. I have a separate strap to keep the 'dangly bit' (the visible bit of the catheter I mean, I'm female :D) against my leg so it doesn't get in the way. When I'm done I put the shower strap on the towel rail to dry for next time, reattach Foley to tube and put dry strap on. We were given lots of spare straps with our bags - worth you asking for if you haven't got any - the more spares you have the more often you can wash them.
