Opportunity to participate in research study!

Hello everyone,

Many men, as they get older, experience problems passing urine. They may need to pass urine more frequently than usual, find their sleep interrupted by having to go to the toilet during the night, notice a change in their flow rate or may experience loss of bladder control. These problems are grouped into what we call Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS).

We are looking for men over 16 to take part in a clinical study; PRImary care Management of lower Urinary tract Symptoms: development and validation of a diagnostic clinical decision support tool (The PriMUS Study), to see if we can develop a decision tool to help GPs more accurately diagnose and therefore treat and manage male LUTS, without the need to be referred to hospital.

We have GP practices recruiting participants across Bristol, Newcastle and South Wales.
You can find out more by visiting the PriMUS study on our website http://www.primus-study.co.uk/, or feel free to get in touch with your GP Practice to see if they are running the PriMUS Study. Alternatively, you can email us at PRIMUS@cardiff.ac.uk.

This study is funded by the National Institute of Health Research.

Best wishes,
The PriMUS Team
