Gastroparesis?

Well, it's come to this. It's Saturday night and I'm spending time posting on an Internet forum about my bowels.

I'm 51 yrs old, obese, type 2 diabetic - and I'm working on a theory that will hopefully save me from the omg painful won't-come-out gas and 24-hr diarrhea I experienced this past week. Note: I am taking Metformin/Glipizide and also Trulicity once a week injection.

Scenario: Monday, Tues, Wed of this past week, eat whatever and feeling pretty ok. Thursday, woke up with hard, pressurized, foul smelling burps and gas that had me looking 6 months pregnant. Along with that, diarrhea that was nothing but forceful water, coming roughly once an hour. I didn't eat anything at all that day. Nope, not adding fuel to the fire. Friday morning seemed to come the last bout of the water explosion - and then I ate sparingly - banana, some rice/soup and lots of water to rehydrate. Interestingly enough, after that last bout of diarrhea, I didn't go at all and it's now almost 8 pm Saturday, and I still haven't gone. With what I'm thinking, I don't want to eat anymore until I do go, and here's my thinking:

Diabetics from what I understand can suffer from impaired motility/gastroparesis. I have read that Trulicity can have that effect as well. Could it just be that in my mentioned scenario, the food from Mon, Tues, Wed is just ... getting backed up in the drain so to speak? Laying in there making some fine gas and pressure until for whatever reason thar she blows?

Having not eaten today, I can say I don't feel even the urge to go, but I do have some very mild discomfort in my lower, lower abdomen.

All this being said yeah, I know. I need to endure a colonoscopy. Doc says blah blah diet, exercise etc. but I've had these bowel issues to some degree for years. I've had my gallbladder removed so it's not that and I feel like it's just way more than not eating the right things.

Eat more healthy, and try apple or orange juice.

Could it be a side effect of your gallbladder removal?
