irritable bowel syndrome and gastrointestinal reflux

I think that my irritable bowel syndrome and gastrointestinal reflux have both decided to have a flare up. Double the fun! I have three jobs and today I'm scheduled to work at two of them and really don't feel able to after disturbed nights and painful days. I don't like phoning in absent as I know that my colleagues will have to do my work as well as their own :-( I'm glad to have safe spaces like here to talk about tummies!

Symptoms can include stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and/or constipation. The condition is often lifelong, although the symptoms may change over time. With the right strategies, IBS can be successfully managed

Re: irritable bowel syndrome and gastrointestinal reflux

Probiotics are essentially live micro-organisms that increase the good or friendly bacteria in the digestive system which leads to improved digestion and other health benefits. Research has shown that probiotics could help control gastrointestinal disorders such as diarrhea, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome in some people.

Over-eating, eating spicy, oily foods, alcohol, sleeping/lying down immediately after eating, eating in a hurry, chronic stress, etc. can all cause heartburn or acid reflux. Imbalance in the gut bacteria can lead to an improper breakdown of food and an increase in intestinal gas, bloating and create unpleasant acid reflux.

One mechanism may be poor muscle function of the intestinal tract. Some experts suspect there may be an incoordination of the muscles that line the esophagus, stomach, and intestines, contributing to symptoms of both IBS and acid reflux

Re: irritable bowel syndrome and gastrointestinal reflux

Even my 3-year-old Daughter has gastrointestinal reflux issues. She used to vomit everything continuously for 10 days. Our doctor suggested Scanning and identifying lymph nodes in stomach. But gastroenterologist suggested endoscopy. So I suggest you consult gastroenterologist who will diagnose the problem and then provide treatment.

commonly referred to as heartburn. Having one of these conditions can be bad enough, but many people have to deal with both.
