Mobile phones and testicular cancer

I have 2 teenage boys who constantly carry their mobile phones in their front trouser pockets. Do I need to be concerned about the possibility of them getting testicular cancer from this? You read so much in the press but whenever I mention it to them they brush it off as me being a nag!!!

Thank you........Helen

Re: Mobile phones and testicular cancer

Hi there

As far as I am aware there is no evidence to suggest that mobile phones carried in a pocket increase the risk of testicular cancer developing. A recent study suggested that mobile phones kept in this way may affect fertility, however this is controversial ( see NHS evaluation in below link).

Hi

I would agree - there is no evidence of increased risk of testicular cancer or other health problems from carrying a mobile phone in the pocket. As a parent of teenage kids myself, I know we desperately want to find a way to prise their mobiles away from them at times, but unfortunately you are going to have to look for another reason!
