Allergies

My daughter has been diagnosed with PLE and has an appointment in dermatology tomorrow regarding aquagenic utercaria. Her sensitivity to water is getting worse as time goes on. It started with just her legs when bathing and now it's most of her body, even when she cries because of the pain after a 2 minute shower. Will it continue to worsen or is she always going to be in pain and unable to do things like swimming or go out when it's raining. Any ideas for us would be welcome. Thanks

Re: Allergies

It's really positive that you have an appointment in dermatology.

Generally urticaria, including physical urticaria can be controlled with a multi step regime of histamine antagonists, sometimes at much higher doses than normal and montelukast. There are also other options.

Urticaria is unpredictable but there is definitely a chance it could settle down.

Hope that helps!
