Runny nose

My daughter has a constant runny nose. This occurs all year round. She is 5. Do you have any suggest as to what might be causing it, someone mentioned dairy, but I know dairy gets mentioned for so many potential allergies.

Thanks

Al

Re: Runny nose

Most common causes of perennial rhinitis (runny/blocked nose) include house dust mite (v common) and animal allergens (if you have any at home). Mould allergy is less common in children. Non allergic rhinitis is possible too. Best would be to have her tested (allergy skin or blood tests) and then treat with an antihistamine and/or nasal steroid. If it doesn't help she should be seen by an Allergist.
