Resilience in the lives of children with visible differences

Can you help with this study?

It is exploring resilience in the lives of children with a visible difference during their first year of secondary school. The focus of the study is on sharing the child’s experiences and providing a platform for these stories to be heard. With this in mind, the nature of the study is longitudinal as the process of resilience unfolds over time. The lead researche would like to capture these ‘moments’ during the course of the secondary year and document these in a year-book for the child.

This will involve some online interviews, an optional vlogging that the child can complete at their own time and other interviews with the child and their family, their friend and a teacher from their new school.

This study has acquired ethical approval from the Kingston Ethics committee, and I have two supervisors working with me. An Amazon voucher of £10 will be given to each participating family.
