Sore hard dry patches on hands

For about 3 years now I get these patches of hard dry skin, often itchy and scaly that crack and leave my hands extremely sore, I am a hairdresser and first thought it was a chemical I was using, but during the 3 month lockdown they were still the same and nothing has worked on them, I’ve tried every hand cream known to man as well as a steroid cream that my GP prescribed me, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Thank you for posting on the forum regarding your sore hands. If nothing topically has helped and you dont think its to do with the chemicals you are using as a hairdresser, then perhaps thinking about healing from within. They can come from exercise and working out using dumbbells. They clear away over time. You have nothing to fear. I had them myself.
