Annular Erythema
Hi there, I've finally had a diagnosis by a dermatologist that the rash in my groin area, in my arm pits and bottom crack area is Annular Erythema. I'm 46, have had this now pretty much constantly (it might disappear for a month or two) for about 6 years and recently it has become the worst it has even been. I'm now sick of having this.
My dermatologist stated that there is not much they can do from preventing it from happening and can only offer me Trimovate to treat it. I just don't want to accept this for an answer. There must be something in my body causing these breakouts and I want to get to the bottom of it. I may not ever be able to get rid of it entirely but I want to understand why this is happening. i.e is it an intolerance to certain foods etc.
There really isn't much info on the internet but could anyone give me advice as to where to go from here? i.e is there a dermatologist who specialises in this anywhere in the world that can help me. Thanks

Re: Annular Erythema
Hello - we are sorry to hear you are experiencing this and it is increasingly getting worse. We do run regular clinics with dermatologist so would suggest when there is an appropriate one you post the question. We would also suggest looking for a second opinion from another dermatologist and particularly if you can find one that has written any papers on this particular subject. Unfortunately we cant offer any specific ones ourselves at this time but you could seek help also from BAD the British Association of Dermatologists who maybe able to offer where to go for further information.
