Vulva skin condition

Symptoms started when i was 18 around the time I had became sexually active, which is also when I started on the contraceptive patch. Symptoms didn’t change when I came off the patch.
Symptoms noticeably flare up around 1 week before my period, and while I am on it.
Symptoms include shooting pains, over sensitivity, dryness, burning & itching in the external skin around the vulva & never internally.
It feels as though the nerve endings in my skin are on over drive when having a flare up. It gets particularly bad at night when I go to bed and lie down. Sometimes i will itch in my sleep until the skin breaks causing excruciating pain.
I have been misdiagnosed with thrush multiple times and tried canisters, tablets & creams. I’ve had multiple STD swabs and everything had always come back negative. I have been prescribed the strongest steroid creams available to me by doctors and they give temporary relief however they don’t reduce the problem and they have side affects such as thinning the skin so I want to avoid using them long term.

Re: Vulva skin condition

Some of the skin disorders that affect the vulva include folliculitis, contact dermatitis, Bartholin gland cysts, lichen simplex chronicus, lichen sclerosus, and lichen planus. What is folliculitis? Folliculitis appears as small, red, and sometimes painful bumps caused by bacteria that infect a hair follicle. Some of the skin disorders that affect the vulva include folliculitis, contact dermatitis, Bartholin gland cysts, lichen simplex chronicus, lichen sclerosus, and lichen planus.
