I thought since this forum isn't so active I would start something new. I live in Germany and thought some tips I have might help someone. I would like some for Italy or Newzealand in return

Reformhaus – A large chain of health food stores in Germany and Austria with a range of food for allergy sufferers.

Alnatura – Natural foods store with a large dedicated gluten-free section

Rossman – A drug store that is everywhere and usually has some products that cater to people with allergies or intolerances.

Glutenfrei-unterwegs – A good resource for celiacs. Lists shops, restaurants and hotels in Germany and Austria that cater to celiacs. In german but pretty basic so google translate can make sense of it.

Delicardo – Allergy cards for restaurants or places where you aren't preparing the food. Based in Germany and reasonably priced.

Thats all I can think of, I know lots of locals for Berlin but these general ones are pretty helpful for all of germany.

Traveling with allergies is really hard especially if you are going to a place you are not that familiar with. And often the problem would be getting attacks right in the middle of the trip where you do not have that much meds in handy.

I remember one time visiting a place with a flower festival and it was really hard to keep up with the surroundings. And one night I went home with an almost shut eye so I have to take the rest of the vacation just in the room.

It's really a very hard. I think, planning and preparation is the most important while who are traveling with allergies. You should aware of the things from which you are suffering with allergy problem and try to avoid it. If you have allergy of smoke then use mask which will help you to keep you away of smoke. This silly precautions are very much helpful while you are travelling with allergy.

i bought a special allergy phrase book which was very helpful as most meals were an issue and many holidays we spent tracking down doctors with little to no english.

I know hells pizza has gluten free pizza in New Zealand. Vogels also has a nice gluten free bread.

I also live in Germany and find lots of yummy free from foods in the organic supermarkets here. Bio-Company is one and I forget the name of the other big one.

I've tried the Delicardo Foodcards for my dairy intolerance and they do come in pretty handy, especially when one hasn't fully grasped the local Sprache yet
