Eczema Atopic Dermatitis

Postby texasallergy on Fri May 29, 2015 8:22 am

Atopic dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin that happens when your body is exposed to something that you are allergic to. You can be exposed to the offending agent by any means, including inhaling it, ingesting it or contacting your skin.

Hi there,

I want to start out by saying I'm new to the site and don't know if I'm posting this correctly..

About three months ago, my sister moved into my house with her Australian Shepherd.

Since the move I've been itchy all over. Started with hives on my body but now my feet and hands are covered with very itchy bumps that are sometimes fluid filled. Please help. Is this the dog? Or do I have a more serious condition.?

Can dog dander cause forms of eczema? I've done research and it might be dyshidrotic eczema.. Is it the dog?. Any insight would help.. I have never been through anything like this before!

Thank you for sharing your experiences. What soap powders/laundry detergents work best for you?

Our eczema and allergy hubs may be useful to look at regarding different types of triggers and skin conditions-

Have you found out anymore about your triggers/condition?

Atopic dermatitis is a type of chronic inflammatory skin condition that is characterized by itchiness, redness and swollen or cracked skin. The data estimates suggest that nearly 60% of the patients develop symptoms in the first year of life and the severity increases as the child grow older.
