idiopathic gut dismotility

Diaganosed with this problem 3 years ago and despite a lot of remedies plus approaches still suffer with much pain - mainly trapped wind, inflamed abdomen, and constipation.....A great part of my life is taken up sorting food issues, making it possible for me to eat things without getting a negative response! The pain is often at night causing deprive sleep which eats into my days. Consequently activities have been much reduced and planning things is virtually impossible.

Re: idiopathic gut dismotility

Depending on the exact nature of the problem - there may be some ways to help your symptoms. This may involve medication to stimulate the gut motility (prokinetics), to relieve muscle spasm or constipation, and sometimes medications to decrease the sensitivity of the bowel. Dietary changes can also help. You may want to see your GP about this who should be able to refer you to either a dietician or a specialist.
Hope this is helpful
