After op scar

I had to have emergancy surgery 8 years ago what left a long uneven bumpy scar with the stich holes,It runs from my my kidney and through the knicker line but its so itchy and annoying ive drew blood on more than one accasion! Have you any ideas to ease the itching other than scratching it? i'm already using creams but they don't help for long and my drs at a loss at what to try, I just want it to stop itching and be less bold is there anything out there i can try ? thank you for reading,

It is possible that your scar is either hypertrophic or a keloid and I would recommend you get your GP to refer you to a specialist clinic to discuss treatment options such as; massage, application of silicone sheet/gels, steroid tapes/ injections.
