Wondering

Is Rosacea a form of Acne? If so, how does it differ from "true" Acne?

Re: Wondering

Hello,

Thanks for your question. Rosacea and acne are thought to be completely different conditions. Rosacea causes facial redness, often flushing and sometimes acne-like spots. The flushing can last over an hour and is brought on by exercise, temperature change, alcohol, hot drinks and spicy food. Rosacea usually occurs mid-adult life, although this is variable. It is unusual in teenagers, which is when acne is commonest. Acne usually occurs earlier and often causes blackheads and whiteheads which are not a feature of rosacea.

Best wishes
