hands

Hi I work with children and I'm forever having to wash my hands with messy play etc but this has recently started to make my eczema worse and I'm scratching more than normal, can you suggest what I can do to help , thanks

Re: hands

Can you wear disposable gloves at all? I find latex/powder free gloves work well :D

Re: hands

Dear Cally,

I would try and make the most of general tips for managing eczema.

1. Do not use soap, shower gel, or stripping hand washes to clean your hands. Opt for emollient hand washes
2. Get into the habit of moisturising (fragrance free) with creams immediately after washing your hands
3. Consider short term use of a topical steroid ointment for short, sharp bursts when your eczema is problematic

Best wishes,

Anjali
