Is vitiligo hereditary? I don't want to give it to my children in the future.

Vitiligo can run in families but the inheritance pattern is complicated as there are multiple causative factors involved. Variations in over 30 genes occurring in different combinations have been associated with an increased risk of developing vitiligo and about 20% of people with this condition will have a close family member that is also affected.
