Re: daily care
Many thanks for taking the time to post a question.
Protecting skin from the sun and avoiding sunburn is one of the most important parts of daily skincare for those with vitiligo. Affected patches of skin which are white have no natural protection (or melanin) against the sun's rays and are likely to burn quickly. Sunburn can be uncomfortable, potentially worsen vitiligo, and also increase the risk of skin cancer.
Wearing broad-spectrum (offers protection against both UVA and UVB rays) SPF 50 is a good idea as part of general sun safety. Also consider sitting in the shade when sunshine is at its peak between 11-4pm and wearing loose protective clothing, a hat, and sunglasses.
I hope this helps and best wishes,
Anjali
